The Burbank Tigers pitching coach might be looking for a new job soon. His
team allowed 15 runs while Mark Mulder(7-8), with relief help from Rob Bell,
allowed Burbank 4 runs in a laugher.
The Burbank fans didn't appreciate the big day Placido Polanco had. He laced
a base-hit in the 4th inning, lashed a single knocking in a run in the 5th
inning and depressed the partisan hometown fans with a grand slam home run
(his 9th of the season) in the 9th inning. Langley bats were hot in the 4th
inning which saw them plate 5 runs on 3 hits and the 9th inning when they had
4 runs on 4 hits. Langley ended up with 18 hits for the game while Burbank
had 13.
Gil Meche(3-8) ended up with the loss. He was touched for 8 hits and 3 walks
in 3 and 2/3 innings.
